Prior to an initial treatment we usually take a personal and medical history. Typical questions include:
- what type of work do perform?
- do you partake in any regular exercise?
- do you have a particulary injury or area of pain?
- how long has this condition existed?
We may then test the body to reproduce the pain syndrome. After the treatment we may also retest to analyse the degree of improvement attained. Depending upon the severity and longevity of the condition, a treatment plan that extends over several sessions may be required or maybe just an occasional pick-me-up may be needed
Often other tissues are affected by a condition as they try to compensate the body. Therefore a wholistic approach is often beneficial to calm muscle spasm.
Some remedial treatments feel very different to relaxation techniques, but most people easily become used to it and enjoy the therapeutic benefits.
